In what is the latest in a series of moves indicating that the French side, Paris Saint-Germain’s embracement of Crypto has reached a deeper level, the club has signed a multi-year agreement with Crypto.com.
PSG and Crypto.com new partnership
The deal between PSG, a foremost European club, and Crypto.com, one of the world’s fastest-growing crypto platforms, was announced by the club in a press statement on Friday.
According to the statement, the deal has now made the crypto company the official partner of the club and it would be in charge of various things including the release of exclusive Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on Crypto.com’s native NFT platform: Crypto.com/NFT.
The statement also revealed that as part of the terms in the agreement, Crypto.com would, in an unprecedented move, pay a good part of the sponsorship fee using its native cryptocurrency token CRO.
Speaking on the development, PSG’s Chief Partnerships Officer, Marc Armstrong, revealed that the club is delighted to welcome Crypto.com into its family. He said:
“We share the same passion for innovation and the same ambition to reach the very top. With this partnership Paris Saint-Germain demonstrates once more its vision and leadership as a pioneer in areas such as lifestyle, esports and digital.”
He added that it is an exciting time for Cryptocurrency and the club is more than eager to work with the platform and give its fans new experiences.
On his own part, Crypto.com co-founder and CEO Kris Marszalek, said the platform’s mission has always been to accelerate the world’s transition to cryptocurrency.
“We do so by finding the best partners in the world, and Paris Saint-Germain is second to none,” Marszalek said.
He added that he rests assured that with the brand’s visibility, the club’s stadium and team access, and collaborative development of NFTs, they would create magic.
